Global PCB factory rankings: Zhending remains at the top

2024-01-09

The well-known market research agency N.T. Information announced the ranking of the top ten PCB factories in the world. There are five Taiwanese factories: Zhending (4958), Xinxing (3037), Huatong (2313), Jianding (3044), and Nanjing Electric (8046). Among them, Zhending continues to be the world's largest PCB board factory. Compared with the 2021 ranking, Hannstar Bo (5469) is absent from the top ten and dropped to 13th, while Nandian was included in the eighth place.

The performance of Taiwanese companies in the global rankings in 2022 is still outstanding. Five of the top ten board manufacturers are included, and they cover the first, second and fourth places. In order, they are Zhending Technology, Xinxing Electronics and Huatong Computer. Looking at manufacturers with a revenue of over US$100 million, the overall number of finalists is led by Mainland China with 64 companies, followed by Taiwan with 27 companies, followed by 21 companies from Japan, 14 companies from South Korea, 5 companies from the United States, 5 companies from Europe, and 3 companies from Southeast Asia.

N.T. Information head Yoshio Nakahara said that in 2022, there will be 139 PCB manufacturers in the world with a turnover of more than 100 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 7 compared with 2021, but the number of PCB manufacturers with a revenue of more than 1 billion U.S. dollars will increase to 28, compared with 2021. There are 3 more companies. If the 139 panel manufacturers ranked are divided into six major blocks (1~25, 26~50, 51~75, 76~100, 101~125, 126~139), their revenue The annual growth rates are 11.6%, 8.6%, 1.8%, 4.5%, -5.6%, and -2.3% respectively. The above statistics show the trend of "the big one is always big", in which the "winner's circle" accelerates and the "chaser" Momentum is slowing down or mired in recession.

N.T. Information estimates that PCB output value will reach US$97.5 billion in 2022, an increase of 6.7% compared with 2021. If calculated in terms of capital, Taiwan-funded board manufacturers still rank first in the world with a market share of 31.97%. It is worth noting that mainland-funded board manufacturers Companies have been catching up in recent years, ranking second with 31.52%, followed by Japan at 15.9% and South Korea at 10.67%.

If the scope is expanded to the top 25 PCB board manufacturers in the world, the number of Taiwanese manufacturers expanded from 5 to 9, including Hannstar Bo, Jingshuo (3189), Nanzi Electric, Hushi Electric, and Taijun ( 6269) are all on the list. Compared with the 2021 ranking, Nandian replaced Hannstar Bo in the top ten.

The global highlight in 2022 is IC carrier boards, whose output value is about 20% of the overall PCB bare board (excluding component revenue, approximately US$88 billion). In addition to companies in application fields such as CPUs, they will be affected by high inventory in the second half of 2022. Except for the impact, the rest are showing a growth trend. At the same time, IC carrier board manufacturers are very active in future investment, estimated to reach 30 billion US dollars. When these investments are converted into production, the proportion of carrier boards in PCB is expected to climb to 25%, it is expected that the global carrier board output value will reach US$22 billion in 2025.
